With our Neighborhoods issue approaching faster than we'd like to admit, it seems like all talk around the office has been centered around SF districts this week. Though the borders between 'hoods can be fuzzy, they certainly each have a distinct style about them. We decided to have a little fun and mash up two seemingly opposite neighborhoods into one look that we could see just as easily on a girl shopping the stroller-lined Chestnut Street as one having a beer at Zeitgeist.

Which two neighborhoods should we combine next?

As the balmy weather we’d just gotten used to makes a hasty retreat and subjects us to several consecutive days of (gasp!) sub-60-degree temperatures, it’s a prime time to take cover indoors. Luckily, that’s where the best sales and fashion events are this weekend.

Here what’s on our radar:

Assessing the fit of players’ uniforms and sizing up halftime performers’ getups during the Super Bowl won’t be our only fashion-minded activities this weekend. Here are four more:

There was no valet parking on Mission or Valencia streets 15 years ago. No one was no waiting 10 minutes in line for Tartine or Ritual coffee. The only slightly gentrified business on the Valencia strip was Val 21 – (now Dosa) right next to the lesbian bookstore. 23rd Street was inhabited by Radio Valencia (serving up pre-mp3 mixed music), instead of people drinking absinthe at Beretta.
