On December 13, Delfina’s staff will be shopping their own wares—crafts created by employees will be on sale at the Holiday Craft Fair. Stop by to show your support and finish your holiday shopping, then duck into Pizzeria Delfina for a pie.

It's truffle time. Every year Delfina sources top-notch Piemontese white truffles and serves them up with an a la carte menu inspired by the the rich dishes and ingredients of the region. As a perfect complement, the restaurant is breaking out an extended list of fine Barolos and Barbarescos from a range of storied vintners, vineyards, and vintages. And what's more—November 19 is Delfina's 11th anniversary—definitely a reason to celebrate.

Call ahead for reservations and pricing.

Pizza: It's complicated.

Last week, I blogged in defense of Pizzeria Delfina versus Gialina, an opinion I still stand by.

Michael Bauer might have beat him to it, but finally Ed Levine posted his personal opinion about Gialina and Delfina's pizza on the Slice blog.

Take a trip to Italy without leaving SF as Delfina celebrates the food and wine of Le Marche with guest winemaker Luciano Landi. You'll be tasting the latest vintages of his wines, including the Lacrima di Morro d’Alba “Gavigliano,” and Delfina's longtime favorite, the Lacrima passito dessert wine. Eats for the evening include brodetto di pesce, lasagna vincigrassi and more.

It's Passover time, and if the thought of the family seder makes you cringe, play sick and head over to Delfina instead. The daily changing menu will offer special dishes inspired by the holiday such as brisket, carciofi alla giudea, poached bass with gelatina and walnut sauce, risi bisi, Passover ribollita, an edible seder plate and matzoh ball soup made in the Stoll family tradition.

For those of us who don't celebrate Passover, Delfina will celebrate Easter on Sunday, April 12th with spring lamb, local spring vegetables, stracciatella and more.

Learn what you like in a wine with Delfina wine director Becky Swanson and Bi-Rite Market wine buyer Josh Adler. Part of a monthly wine series geared toward teaching you wine terminology through tasting, each class will feature six wines selected around a chosen theme.
