Take a cab ride across the the southern end of the city, and you may notice that the streets get a little curvier; dappled sunlight peeks through large oaks above and, as if on cue, the houses grow a tad bigger. Have you stumbled into suburbia in the middle of a metropolis? Close. You've just found your way to Forest Hill, the tony neighborhood just south of the Sunset but light years away from nearby city hamlets.

Live the Good Life at the Infinity

(blog)

On Saturday the Embarcadero-side Infinity Tower II will be open for all potential buyers to see, with a move-ins scheduled for Spring.  The second tower has similar floorplans to the first, but the developers say the second tower has nicer interior finishes.  Finishes like quartzite countertops, brushed stainless steel plumbing fixtures, limestone flooring (in the bathroom), Kohler bathroom fixtures, Studio Becker cabinets and Bosch appliances.  Each unit has jaw-dropping and completely unobstructed views of the bay, which is one of the many reasons San Francisco is buzzing about the lat

High Style Livin'

Luxury living in San Francisco is a difficult life to achieve.  Sure, we've got the shops and the restaurants, but the real estate market offers slim pickings.  But wait!  Now is your chance to score (or at least get inspired by) a rare piece of prime real estate.  Le Grand Dame is her name, and she's a 1895 restored Queen Anne Victorian.   And She's just steps from historic Alamo Square Park!  And since it was all done up pretty by a local designer, you can move in without having to undergo a financially exhausting remodel (yuck).  The skinny:  In addition to the 2 fireplaces and

Critics have long carped that our city is too timid, architecturally speaking, and maybe that complaint has a grain of truth in it. But you wouldn't know it from the projects appearing on the following pages. And to get you in the proper aesthetic mood, we present a preview (above) of the new plaza under construction at the Fillmore Center.

Looking out: Unobstructed waterfront views of the port of Oakland, the Bay Bridge and AT&T Park are on tap at the Radiance at Mission Bay. The two residential towers, scheduled for completion this month, are located next to 43 acres of green park space, which, in a former life, were once part of the shipping yards for the Santa Fe Railroad.
