Get L.O.W. at Vessel

(blog)

You deserve a drink for making it through the week. The party people at L.O.W. (Look Out Weekend) are hosting a shindig at Vessel to celebrate their one-year anniversary. Skip out of the office early, throw on your dancing shoes and start your weekend off with a live performance by locally-based rap mash duo Lazer Sword with DJ Huggs, followed by Pance Party and Pony P on the turntables. Buy a Fernet or Correlejo shot, get a free beer for the chase. $6 cocktails, $3 beers and snacks provided compliments of Bar Crudo.

A little birdie told us that the new Bar Crudo on Divisadero will open its doors today, making this Nopa stretch even more of a hotbed for quality food and drink. Mourn the loss of the location on Bush and then toast to new beginnings.

RN74 nears. Get excited.

Welcome to our partnership with Eater. For this weekly Friday column, Eater editor Paolo Lucchesi gives his opinionated report on all the restaurant news that's fit to print, including all kinds of upcoming projects, hot downtown debuts, and Alice Waters' breakfast-making tips (just place a cracked egg in a hot, wood-fired oven and voila!).

Less is More

Some of SF’s best food is at restaurants the size of your studio apartment.

Some of SF’s best food is at restaurants the size of your studio apartment. While SF has its fair share of mega-menu, reservations-required dinner spots, some of the tastiest and most interesting meals can be had in spaces that are less than 1,000 square feet. These teeny, tiny restaurants don’t have a Napoleon complex; they try that much harder. Here are seven matchbox-sized places that are as intimate and friendly as the food is tasty.
