Recent New York transplant Lia Kes wants you to go places in her clothes. As in more places than one.

“What I really try to do is items that will give you more, that will be season-less, that will transition from morning to evening, where you can leave the office and have a date,” Kes explained at last night’s press preview for her first retail store’s grand opening celebration, taking place tomorrow night.

If we were to tell you that you could procure organic beauty products for less than you can buy them off the shelf and diminish your impact on the environment at the same time, you’d probably want in.

This weekend, Cow Hollow shop inventories runneth over... and out into Union Street for the neighborhood's annual Super Sidewalk Sale. Not to be confused with the Union Street Festival, (sorry, no beer gardens here!) the three-day event is all about great sales at retailers up and down the neighborhood's main shopping drag.

Baker Street Bistro

(restaurant)
Offering affordable French fare with California flair in a charming space—indoor and outdoor seating, a garden trellis and an open kitchen with a view of the culinary action—this is the ideal spot to gather your friends for a special occasion. Eats:What's on your menu.: You’ll find such bistro classics as grilled New York steak with shallots, tarragon butter and pommes frites. Daily specials like blue nose sea bass with spinach, Chioggia beets, pearl onions and a tomato-balsamic reduction will please even those with persnickety palates. Simple desserts such as tart Tatin and a pear poached in red wine are crowd-pleasers.

Third Time’s the Charm?

Terzo receives a warm welcome in a ?neighborhood hungry for better food.Cow Hollow has never exactly been a fine-dining destination. Despite Betelnut’s ongoing popularity and the cheerful weekend brunches at Rose’s Café, the neighborhood has been better known for the hordes of recent college grads pounding beers at Bar None and the $250 denim at Blues Jean Bar. Previous dining options have ranged from game-time Buffalo wings at Bayside Sports Bar and Grill to chain-level Italian—until recently, that is. New outposts of SF favorites La Boulange, Chez Maman and Home have started to change the culinary scene.
