Boucheron hosted a kick-off cocktail party to honor the SF20 Host Committee on July 31st. SF20, which will take place September 10th at Fort Mason, is a 20th Century art show and sale benefiting the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

On Wednesday, March 12, Nadine Weil and the renowned (and ecofabulous) designer Zem Joaquin hosted a private cocktail reception for contentious couturier John Patrick, who offered a sneak peek at his Fall 2008 line of organic clothes.

Global Green USA celebrated its third annual SF benefit party at Bently Reserve. The event, which focused on "green design solutions to combat climate change and other environmental issues," attracted a host of pro-green celebrities including Jason Lewis, Josie Maran, Jason Behr, Michelle Branch and Kadee Strickland. Proceeds from that night have been funneled into projects such as the Green Schools Initiative and the Holy Cross project, the first sustainable low-income housing community in New Orleans’s Lower 9th Ward.

Joie de Vivre's Soma Grand celebrated its grand opening last week with a ritzy party at its Mission Street location. Residences range in size from about 660-square-foot junior one bedrooms to 1,600-plus square-foot three-bedrooms, with prices starting in the mid-$500,000s.

Circle & Square (344 Presidio Ave.) celebrated its grand opening with a party that showcased artisan and design objects from around the world.

Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS brought their Dining By Design tour presented by Elle Décor and GE Monogram to the SF Design Center on Tuesday, November 12 for the Table Hop and Tasting Gala and Wednesday, November 13 for the Dining for Design Gala.

Lawanna Cathleen Design and Baxter & Cook Art Advisors celebrated their grand opening with a Moulin Rouge-themed party at The San Francisco Design Center.

Actress and Marin resident Robin Wright Penn hosted an event honoring nonprofit EcoMom Alliance, an organization that "inspires and empowers mothers to help create an environmentally, socially and economically prosperous and healthy future for all." Held in the green living showroom of Green Fusion Design Center, this was a pre-party for another event to be held in SF on Nov.

Pacific Heights Place (1525 Union Street) celebrated its grand opening with cocktails and a signing by best-selling author Diane Dorrans Saeks of her new book Palm Springs Living.

Roughly 1,000 people attended "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," the Junior League of SF's 13th annual home tour comprising seven Russian Hill homes. Guests mingled in the outdoor marketplace as they shopped for gourmet goodies while listening to live music. A winetasting pavilion, local cheeses and grilled salmon salad were among the many treats offered at the sprawling event.
