Get ready to glam it up for one of our favorite charitable galas of the year.

On August 13th, the Bay Area's young professionals and philanthropists will gather at the 7th Annual GLIDE Legacy Gala, to be heldat the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, to celebrate three important individuals: philanthropist and human rights advocate Felicia Horowitz, who will receive the Janice Mirikitani Award; Dream Corps president/cofounder and CNN contributorVan Jones, who will be honored with the Reverend Cecil Williams Award; and prisoner's rights advocate and author Sarah Shourd, who will take home the Community Hero Award.

The formal (black-tie optional) affair is one of the city's most established and well-attended young professional fundraising events. With more than 1,000 guests, the evening will feature musical performances from the GLIDE Ensemble and Change Band along with the cool beats of DJ KingMost. Plus, as always, guests can expect a hosted bar and delicious bites from some of SF's best restaurants.

The GLIDE Legacy Gala raises funds for programs of the GLIDE Foundation so that GLIDE can continue to provide innovative and comprehensive services to the poor and marginalized in the San Francisco community. Tickets are $85 for General Admission and $150 for VIP, and are available at Eventbrite. A VIP ticket includes a meet-and-greet with GLIDE cofounders Rev. Williams and Ms. Mirikitani; one-hour-early entry (7–8pm); special access to VIP areas; and premium access to specialty cocktails and small bites. Last year's event was a sellout. The event is produced by White Rain Productions.
