The Soft Moon announced a sophomore LP, Zeros, slated to drop on October 30 near mastermind Luis Vazquez's seemingly favorite holiday, Halloween. Catch him at Mezzanine on December 15th. [via email PR land]

The relentless Ty Segall released the first single from his upcoming album Twins, called "The Hill". It's definitely different from what we've heard before: Kicking things off is a chorus of crooning females (who vie for vocal duty with Segall's own snarl), before Segall's traditional squall takes over. Pro tip: Segall will jam with the SF Rock Project at Indie Mart this weekend! [via Drag City Records]

Mission stalwart Adobe Books is closing, which is a tiny blow to the local music scene; the local literary haven also hosted live shows by excellent bands on the regular. [via The Bold Italic]

After a few mixtapes, Oakland's cloud rap duo Main Attraktionz is putting the finishing touches on its debut LP Bossalinis & Fooliyones, set to drop on October 23rd. Take a listen here to catch up on what they've already released. [via Pitchfork]

Dreamy electro pop project Blackbird Blackbird got signed to Lavish Habits (joining fellow SF band Maus Haus), the label that will put out Blackbird's upcoming EP Boracay Planet. Click here to listen to a new original track, "Happy With You", and a rework of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep." Jackpot! [via The Bay Bridged]

SF Weekly profiles prolific Richmond District-based hardcore record label Prank Records. Founded in 1995 by Ken Sanderson, Prank has been integral to the local punk scene, has put out 136 releases throughout its history, and staunchly maintains a fierce punk ideology. [via SF Weekly]

If you're celebrating Indie Mart's fifth birthday this Sunday at Thee Parkside, you've got a lot of good live music coming your way: Black Sabbath cover band (featuring members of Saviours) Bobb Saggeth, Hooves, Meat Market, Disappearing People, and the aforementioned jam sesh between the talented kids of the SF Rock Project and Ty Segall.
