The tireless boys in Main Attraktionz dropped a new track called "Cloud Body," a mellow banger which perfectly describes rap's current trending style, cloud rap. [via Soundcloud]


Animal Friend, one of the funkiest indie bands around, dropped a new single called "Sunset" that somehow makes gloomy days like these not so bad, thanks to copious amounts of sexy falsetto and synths. [via The Bay Bridged]

Although not much is surpising when it comes to Thee Oh Sees' freewheeling style, the band sets its tension-ridden new video for "Lupine Dominus" in a seedy strip club. Definitely not what first comes to mind when you listen to the band. [via Pitchfork]

Uzi Rash, a hard-playing band from Oakland that's calling it quits after five years, premiered one of its last videos this week, entitled "Golden Dawn." Catch one of their last shows at Total Trash Halloween on October 26. [via YouTube]

Oakland's original agitprop rap groupThe Coup (who are also playing Treasure Island Music Fest!) just released a new video for their funktastic track "Guillotine," which does a ton to drum up anticipation for their new album Sorry to Bother You, out October 30. [via SF Weekly]

Sacramento band Death Grips released a chilling video for their song "World of Dogs" off their latest LP, NO LOVE DEEP WEB. It's basically a horror movie waiting to happen. [via Pitchfork]

Leave it to the Dead Kennedys to stir shit up in favor of the little guys. In a recent NPR story about how YouTube shares its revenue (via annoying ads) with artists, DK's guitarist East Bay Ray says the band's videos have been streamed over 14 million times, but the band has only seen a few hundred dollars in payment. Brings up some excellent questions, doesn't it, YouTube? [via SF Weekly]

Former Sleepy Sun vocalist-turned solo star Rachel Fannan announced that she'll be joining the Fresh & Onlys on keyboards for their winter tour, which should be a grat addition to their live show. Can we expect future collaborations to be put on record? [via The Bay Bridged]
