Learn about the practice of mindfulness and the benefits of yoga and meditation from Jon Kabat-Zinn, professor of Medicine Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and Kelly McGonigal, a health psychologist and lecturer at Stanford University in this City Arts & Lectures conversation. Kabat-Zinn and McGonigal will go over the Mindfulness – Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program and how to use meditation and yoga to combat illness, stress, and chronic pain.

Alfred Hitchcock: Shape of Suspense Screenings
Before Hitchcock created his famous American works of the 1940s and 1950s, he was an acclaimed director in Britain where he got his start as a titles designer for silent pictures. Starting on 1/11 lasting through April, BAM/PFA will be holding screenings of British Hitchcock films. The 39 Steps, Sabotage, and The Man Who Knew Too Much will be screened this weekend.

All hail Lady Gaga, who will preside over her little monsters from a 50-foot turret atop a medieval-style fortress onstage this month in San Jose. The Born This Way Ball is a five-act pop opera of sorts, complete with surreal human motorcycles, alien invasions, and knights in shining armor. The lady doth change clothes too much: Watch for 14 new costumes costume-designed by Versace, Moschino, and Armani.
