Now in its 11th year, the weekend-long free music festival has become an Indian summer staple. The schedule is packed (as always) with oldies but goodies—Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, Dr. John, Robert Plant, John Prine, Robert Earl Keen, Earl Scruggs, and about a million more. The Mekons have a quiet night of acoustic grooves at the Swedish American Hall on Fri., 9/30, after their afternoon Hardly Strictly show. Broken Social Scene hits up the Fillmore on Sat., 10/1, after their afternoon festival set. And finally, Gillian Welch jams at the Fillmore on Sun., 10/2.
