TV on the Radio
Free forming TV on the Radio  is still touring to promote their latest album Nine Types of Light, which has already garnered lots of praise. The show is not yet sold-out (surprise!), and local sensations Thee Oh Sees are opening. Get thee to the Fox tonight!

Dominant Legs
This SF band is a personal favorite. WIN TICKETS TO TONIGHT'S SHOW (by leaving a comment below), where the band will surely debut new material from their first full-length album Invitation.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass
Now in its 11th year, the weekend-long free music festival has become an Indian summer staple. The schedule is packed (as always) with oldies but goodies—Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, Dr. John, Robert Plant, John Prine, Robert Earl Keen, Earl Scruggs, and about a million more. Check out our playlist here to get in the mood.
When: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., Fri. 9/30 - Sun. 10/2
Where: Speedway Meadow, Golden Gate Park

If You Miss Hardly Strictly
A handful of the Hardly Strictly folks are playing solo shows at venues across town. So, if you can't make the festival, hit your faves up around town. Dr. John is at the Mountain Winery tonight, 9/27, and Emmylou plays there on Thurs., 9/29. Steve Earle and more play Great American Music Hall on Thurs., 9/29. The Mekons have a quiet night of acoustic grooves at the Swedish American Hall on Fri., 9/30, after their afternoon Hardly Strictly show. Broken Social Scene hits up the Fillmore on Sat., 10/1, after their afternoon festival set. And finally, Gillian Welch jams at the Fillmore on Sun., 10/2.
When: see dates above
Where: various venues, follow above links

Odd Future
A good alternative to a bluegrass heavy weekend. The hotter than hot LA rap collective shakes up the Warfield on Friday.
When: 9 p.m., Fri. 9/30
Where: The Warfield, 982 Market St.

Toro y Moi
Let Chaz Bundick's dreamy funkadelic deliciousness lull you into a sleepy stupor during his two-night stint at Great American Music Hall. Rumor has it that Bundick recently moved to Berkeley, so this may not be your last chance to see him around town.
When: 9 p.m., Sat. 10/1 - Sun. 10/2
Where: Great American Music Hall, 859 O'Farrell St.

Amon Tobin
This one's sold-out, but if you're a fan of the Brazilian electro maestro's sound, start to scheme up a way to score yourself a ticket for this ultimate weekend dance party.
When: 9 p.m., Sat. 10/1
Where: The Warfield, 982 Market St.

Beirut
These guys are great live, so if you're a fan of the Balkan folk meets world meets pop and indie rock, check them out.
When: 8 p.m., Sat. 10/1
Where: The Fox, 1807 Telegraph Ave., Oakland
