Three Reasons to Cross the Bay Bridge

It's a three-day holiday weekend for many and that means it's time to amplify the fun. Come to the East Bay for a triple threat: Wheels, kayaks, and jazz!

Rod & Custom Car Show: If Jack London Square's the heart of Oakland, prepare to fall into the rhythm of its explosive beat at this Saturday's Rod & Custom Car Show. The event will showcase a wide array of classic vehicles from the 1920s to 1960s. Plus, there'll be live tunes and good food to make the day complete.

Brooks Island Kayak Adventure: Feelin' frisky? Check out the scenic Brooks Island, a 373-acre island preserve located right off the Richmond Inner Harbor. The East Bay Regional Park District will host one of its naturalist tours that enable nature lovers to explore the island's beautiful bird sanctuary, rocky peak, and impressive views of the San Francisco Bay. Kayak owners are encouraged to bring their own boats to put the 'umph!' in this special activity.

Primavera Latin Jazz Band: You don’t know good music until you know live jazz. Primavera Latin Jazz Band will take you to another dimension with their blend of classic American jazz, Brazilian funk, and Afro-Cuban grooves. Join them in Berkeley this Sunday for an incomparable treat.
