Hayward Zucchini Festival You haven't had a real summer until you've tasted one of the season's favorite foods. Hayward's hosting its annual, two-day Zucchini Festival which features loads of live music, crafts booths, childrens' activities, and of course, the special guest, zucchini. The green squash will be served in pizza, pasta, quiche, cakes, and ice cream, among other dishes.

Mezcal and Tequila FestivalSo, there's still time to travel to one last destination. And guess what? You don't have to go very far. Mexico's coming to Oakland this Sunday as Tamarindo Antojeria Mexicana hosts its first ever Mezcal and Tequila Festival. The event will be divided into two themes, mezcal and tequila, with leading industry experts showcasing both spirits in specialty cocktails. There'll also be live music from a mariachi band, as well as popular regional meals from Jalisco and Oaxaca, the two states that are most familiar with making tequila and mezcal. Relax and be ready for a savory experience.
