September's bangin' and it's only the beginning. If you like the outdoors, jazz, and visual art, expect nothing but good things this weekend in the East Bay.

Saturday, September 14

Berkeley and Oakland Hills Street Scramble

If you were given 90 minutes or 3 hours to explore as many streets as possible in the East Bay, would you be up for the challenge? Get Lost!! Running, Racing, Inc. is a non-profit organization who's hosting this mind-gasm of a venture on Saturday. Runners, cyclists, and families get the opportunity to visit the streets of Berkeley, Albany, Rockridge, Hiller Highlands, Claremont Hills, Kensington, and El Cerrito on foot or on bike. Participants score points by hitting the main locations circled on a map and answering simple questions that verify they stopped there. Consider being part of the madness - it's fun for all ages!

Sunday, September 15

Earplay Jazzquintet

Get swept away with beautiful music by one of today's most innovative jazz bands. Earplay Jazzquintet is an electro-acoustic ensemble experimenting with a wide array of ethnic tunes, including Brazilian, Western African, Middle Eastern and North Indian influences, that are combined with jazz and 20 century classical works. The Fulton Street Concert Series is hosting this incredible showdown on Sunday afternoon. Indulge, if possible.

Fall Art Market

Established in 1971, the Historic Valley Junction Fall Art Market is back in downtown Walnut Creek. The three-block long festival honors the arts with fine arts and crafts juried exhibitions, live performances, hands-on activities for children, and food vendors. Come out and support your local artists.
