This Saturday is your chance to give back to the majestic redwoods for all the solace and good hiking they’ve ever given you. Get your friends together and sign up for Muir Wood’s annual Volunteer Day to help preserve and restore the spectacular national park. The day’s duties include deck flossing, weed removal, mulching, planting, tending the forest floor, and trail maintenance throughout the Redwood Creek Watershed. All participants are invited to stay for lunch at the end of the event, and volunteers also get free entrance into the park so you can admire your handiwork afterward. Nine-Course Underground Dining

Du Jour Dining is offering their next, signature, nine course, seven-wine underground dinner this Saturday is Sonoma. They even have some new toys to work with including a combi oven and a smoke gun. The meal features: Cherrystone Clam Soufflé with Sauvignon Blanc-Saffron Sauce; Saint Simon Oyster, Ginger Gelee, Salmon Roe and Applewood Smoke; Dungeness Crab, Avocado Puree and Champagne Sabayon; Confit of Leek Soup with Cachel Blue Cheese Arancini; Seared Loup de Mer, Caramelized Cauliflower Puree, and Blood Orange-Bitter Chocolate Sauce; Smoked Liberty Duck Breast, Piment d’Espelette Tuile, Falls Mill White Grits and Red Wine-Porcini; 24-hour Steamed Sonoma Lamb Loin, Romanesco Squared, Fennel Candy and Syrah -Sorrel Sauce; Picollet, Fuyu Persimmon Essence and Fuyu Moons; and finally, Warm Ruby Red Grapefruit, Sassafras Parfait with Bergamot Ice Cream. Sonoma Tastemakers

Every month, St. Francis Winery hosts a different Sonoma producer, purveyor or company in its beautiful Mission-style tasting room to share artisan products and stories. This month, Earth’s Bounty Fine Foods will entice you with their all-natural products meant to enhance everyday meals. Sample savory and sweet jams, delicious sauces, vinaigrettes, tapenades and seasoned nuts. The St. Francis staff will pair wines to accompany the products and share insights on the pairing process.
