Top Business Breakfast Spots

Sure, there are business lunches and dinners, but business breakfasts are a completely different animal. Here are five ideal spots where you can close business over some tasty eggs, and the server won’t tell you to “kiss my grits.”

Americano
Many folks know the restaurant for its kuh-razy happy hour on the patio, but it’s also a great spot for business in the morning if you need to meet someone near the Embarcadero. The egg dishes are particularly good, with seven to choose from. One snag: the parking can rack up quickly, so scan the streets for a spot on the way over if you’re trying to watch your budget.

Brasserie S&P
This Financial District newcomer is a handsome one for business dealings: the location is in the thick of things, and the tables have a fair amount of space in between them. The breakfast menu has some hearty picks, including the classic Hangtown Fry made with crispy Drake’s Bay oysters, black pig bacon, Spring Hill Farms cheddar, and caramelized onions.

Campton Place
A business breakfast standby for many years, its location right on Union Square is easy for folks who work west of the Financial District (and the Union Square parking lot is handy). The dining room is elegant and a bit on the finer side of things, and the menu is rather classic as well.

Out the Door
If you’re looking for something a bit more casual and leisurely, Out the Door on Bush Street is a unique spot to meet up (and definitely gets you some style points). The chicken jook (porridge) is homey and delicious, and tea lovers will find some good selections.

Vitrine
Up on the fourth floor of the St. Regis is Vitrine, a polished spot for SoMa business dealings. The room has a contemporary look, and the service is dialed and discreet. The menu has some creative choices: Eggs Benedict is a good pick here (it comes with truffle hollandaise!), or go extra luxe with the black truffle frittata.
