Great White Attacks Sea Lion at Pacifica

Great White Attacks Sea Lion at Pacifica

By

As many as 50 surfers and Pacifica beach-dwellers witnessed a shark attack yesterday...on a sea lion. Accounts on the surf site stokereport recall a sea lion being "ripped to shreds" by a 18 to 25 foot Great White, followed by a frenzy of birds and a giant pool of blood. Intense.

Check out some funny surf banter on the event here. San Francisco surfers have a love affair with the fall waves (with long period swells and off shore winds at Ocean Beach and Pacifica). But fall also means sea lion mating season...which means Jaws time. Beware of sharks!
