Sleep Beneath a Matisse in the St. Regis' MOMA Suites

By

Ever wondered what it would feel like to sleep under a priceless work of art? Well, wonder no longer. One of the city's most beloved museums, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and in honor of the milestone and its own fifth birthday, the St. Regis has rolled out two limited edition MOMA suites and a MOMA Anniversary Travel Package, which lasts the duration of 2010.

The suites, which are located on the fifth and sixth floors, feature art prints (not originals) from the museum's  "75 Years of Looking Forward" series. In the Gems of the Museum suite, prints by 20th-century legends such as Henri Matisse and Jackson Pollock adorn the walls. In the Art of California Suite, guests can fall asleep beneath abstract paintings of the Golden State.

The anniversary package, which isn't cheap, starts at $1,195 and includes one night's stay in one of the limited edition rooms, passes for two to the neighboring museum and a 448-page hardcover catalogue, "San Francisco Museum of Modern Art: 75 Years of Looking Forward."
