Foodie Tours in Sacramento

Every week, we'll be featuring a guest post from the travel writers behind Worth the Drive, a blog featuring nearby getaways, festivals, and sweet travel deals on NBC Bay Area.
Type the words "Nevada City" and "food" on any website and we literally are on board with anything the site may be talking about. But mix in some more goodness, like foodie excursions in the foothills-sweet town of Murphys, and eating around some of Sacramento's tastiest neighborhoods, and we're signing up. Local Roots Food Tours covers the general Sacramento Valley, with a few fantastic field trips.
Our favorite part is the fact that Local Roots also visits specialty stores in addition to restaurants. That would be our main note for any food tour that just sticks to the traditional kitchens-and-tables venues; hit the places that serve at counters or offer samples of gourmet treats sold within. Many tours already do this, and hooray to that.
