Two New SF Bars Serve Up Games With Their Cocktails

Two new watering holes join the ranks of Bay Area bars serving up friendly competitions alongside their cocktails.

Romper Room, a pink Day-Glo explosion in the Union Square space formerly known as Otis, serves as HQ for the California League of Adult Scavenger Hunters (CLASH) during office hours, but at night it’s all about the party. In addition to games, owner Joe Garvey plans fancy-dress evenings in the “Leopard Lounge,” a mezzanine space with leopard-print sofas, carpets, and walls.

Turning back to the 1980s, Brewcade in the Castro will add all the necessary bleeps and bloops with a video arcade bar in the new condo building at 2200 Market, which also houses the upscale Mexican restaurant Hecho. Start saving your quarters now so that you can while away the hours blasting aliens in Galaga and hurtling rocks in Asteroids.
