Mission Creek Music Festival Is Putting On a Free Concert Tomorrow in McLaren Park

One of the best local music festivals that doesn't get as much love as its counterparts in Noise Pop and Outside Lands is the Mission Creek Music & Arts Festival, a gutsy and grassroots annual happening in its 14th year that supports local gems and digs up cool new talent from all corners of the national music scene.

Pier 24 Gets Transformed Into A Temple of Photography

Pier 24, vacant since 1980, has shed its skin as an abandoned warehouse in the Port of San Francisco and transformed into a massive temple of Modernist and contemporary photography (just check out their impressive list of artists). We can thank the Pilara Foundation, an organization that provides SF Art Institute students with direct access to renowned photographers, for this new outpost of high art.

Mission Workshop Offers Bags, Beer, BBQ and Art Today After Work

The founders of Chrome bags, have taken their bag connoisseurship to the next level by throwing open the doors of Mission Workshop, a new messenger bag studio (jackets to come) located in the Mission, naturally, right off 16th Street between Mission and Valencia. These bags are weatherproof, roomy and manufactured in Colorado, but the best thing about them is they're the kind you can beat up and use the hell out of.

Classic New Orleans: Cocktail Inspiration from the Big Easy

The Big Easy is prime cocktail territory - they even have a museum dedicated to them. Drinks are rightfully consumed there morning, noon and night, including classics like the Sazerac (pictured here) and the Ramos Gin Fizz, and up-and-comers like the Hand Grenade and the Hurricane. If you can't make it to NOLA anytime soon, you can still enjoy their drinks. Our comrades at Liquor.com have an ever-handy recipe guide to the best Big Easy drinks, delicious especially when it's extra hot outside.

The Treasure Island Music Festival: Which Day is Worth Your Cold, Hard-Earned Cash?

Since I first laid eyes on this year's Treasure Island Music Festival lineup, I've been trying to decide which of the fest's two days entices the money out of my wallet more: the bombastic crunch of Saturday's electronic mix or the bleeding hearts and wide-eyed rock of Sunday?

Conan O'Brien's Rescheduled Sketchfest This Saturday @ Herbst Theatre

When Conan O'Brien got brutally booted from NBC's late night pantheon earlier this year, the entire nation felt his pain and joined Team Coco. Countless television interviews and one sold-out revenge themed comedy tour later, Conan has slowed down just enough to sit down with his comrades Andy Richter and Patton Oswalt at Herbst Theatre this Saturday, July 17
