On July 28, the Wine Women & Shoes Napa Valley event lit a spark of awareness and compassion for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, benefitting Napa Emergency Women’s Services. The event was an overwhelming success for NEWS. Over 300 guests celebrated and honored their support for NEWS during an amazing afternoon of wine, shoes, and fashion at Charles Krug Winery. The benefit raised over $80,000, all of which will be delivered directly to NEWS.
On July 26, artist led project, Space Bi, brought together 28 local artists for the "Taking Up Space" exhibition in a friendly takeover of the Asian Art Museum for one night only. Works were inspired by and sometimes critical of the museum's Phantoms of Asia contemporary art exhibition. Guests were also treated to solo shows in the store, pop up karaoke, fruit costumes, printed tortillas, alternative tours of the collection galleries, participatory activities, and more. All while sipping on yummy drinks and boogying down to music by DJ-in-residence Vin Sol.
On July 14, Eiffel Towers were awash in the reflective light of mirrored balls in the de Young Museum’s Wilsey Court for ArtPoint's third annual Bastille Day Party, Paris Is Burning. Burlesque accordion player Kitten on the Keys greeted over 800 young supporters of the arts at the door. The guests were decked out in exuberant cocktail attire. Sequins, leather, platform shoes, and ostrich plumes were the order of the evening.
On Thursday, June 28, Phantoms arose at MATCHA's Phantom's of Asia event. Guests entered the lively atmosphere with tunes flowing from DJ Vin Sol. Drag performances and contemporary art filled the fantastic night. Gypsy Gentleman, a web-based documentary series exploring the history and art of tattoos, kicked off the night. Following that was Litquake, where poets such as Justin Chin and Paul Hoover drifted through the museum channeling spiritual and supernatural forces of Phantoms of Asia.

On May 19, the 9th Annual Croquet Invitational and Charity Auction, a benefit for the Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area, hosted a capacity crowd at Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards in Windsor. With over 600 guests, the event was a huge success! Guests enjoyed wine country’s best food, wine and croquet on a perfect spring day.
On Thursday, May 17 doors opened at the Asian Art Museum for the Phantoms of Asia Preview Party. Guests celebrated the new contemporary art exhibition that explored spirituality, the cosmos and the afterlife in Asia. Artists were present to show off their hard work and greet guests as they walked through.
On May 3, the popular event space with the famed breathtaking views atop 135 Fourth St. showed off a dazzling renovation. The City View at METREON Showcase welcomed event professionals, planners, and VIP guests to unveil a major remodel of its modern-luxe interior and coveted garden terrace.
