This Week's Hottest Events: The Killers' Brandon Flowers, Mortified and Stern Grove

Music: Brandon Flowers
We all know him as frontman of The Killers, but Brandon Flowers is now trying his hand at the solo thing. His solo debut Flamingo is due out in September, and he's already begun his tour supporting the forthcoming album. It's no surprise that the intimate Slim's show is already sold-out, but we're betting someone will get sick and have to sell their tickets. $27.50; Thursday, 8/19; Slim's, 333 11th St., 415-255-0333, slims-sf.com

You might just be on camera. $45; Wednesday, 8/11; Press Club, 20 Yerba Buena Lane, 415-744-5000, tastetv.com

Ludacris at Slim's This Sunday

Normally, Sunday nights are for hanging in, but when word hits the streets that three-time Grammy winner Ludacris is rolling into town for an intimate show at Slim's, exceptions must be made. The rapper-come-actor-come-philanthropist is in town for one night only and will surely play out this year's controversial album Battle of the Sexes along with old favorites like "Stand Up," "Get Back" and "Money Maker." If you're lucky, you may even get a preview of his already-in-the-works next album Ludaversal. Tickets are on the steep side ($45), but when an act like this hits the area, you just do it.

Gorillaz Tix On Sale Friday 10 a.m.

Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett are back from a long hiatus with Gorillaz' highly anticipated third studio album Plastic Beach. Featuring the likes of Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, De La Soul, Little Dragon and more, this one is poised to be their best yet. And with Gorillaz' track record of sold-out performances, our guess is that you'll have about a hot second to get tix. So, get up early, grab a coffee and be on Live Nation's site before the official sale starts at 10 a.m. Friday morning, 8/6.

This Week's Hottest Events: Blondie, Ferris Bueller and the SF Ballet

Music: Blondie
If you're a child of the '80s and don't consider Debbie Harry as your premier pop idol, get your head checked. The ultimate fair-haired frontwoman will hit the stage at the Fillmore for a rare intimate show during which you'll surely hear favorites like "One Way or Another," "The TIde is High," and "Heart of Glass." Be there. Wednesday, 8/4; The Fillmore, 1805 Geary Blvd., 415-346-0600, livenation.com

Get Thee to Wanderlust

Don't write this off as a hokey hippie retreat—last year's inaugural Wanderlust Music and Yoga Festival was hands-down the coolest summer music experience in Northern California. This Week’s Hottest Events: Tracy Morgan, Wanderlust and Joanna Newsom

After seven seasons on Saturday Night Live and four seasons opposite Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey on 30 Rock, SAG award winner Tracy Morgan ’s still got it going on. The Emmy nominee wraps up his current summer stand-up tour right here in SF at Cobb’s next week; the shows are bound to sell out, so if you don’t yet have tickets, start scouring Craigslist. Thursday, 7/29 - Sunday, 8/1; Cobb's Comedy Club, 915 Columbus Ave., 415-928-4320
