Photos: Epi Center MedSpa: Giving Thanks, Giving Gifts, Giving Warmth 2011

During the holiday season, Epi Center MedSpa (450 Sutter St., #800) is as committed to warming the hearts of those in need as to providing innovative skin care for their patients. After having had tremendous success with last year's warm coat drive, helping hundreds of San Franciscans weather the winter elements, Epi Center renewed their drive for donations of coats and jackets, benefiting St. Anthony's Foundation and Conard House.

On November 9, 7x7 welcomed members of the art and design communities and their ardent supporters to the prestigious McLoughlin Gallery near Union Square (49 Geary St.) to help launch the November 2011 issue. Guests enjoyed delicious cocktails from DonQ Rum and signature wines from The Hess Collection, and sampled tasty, whimsical bites from the recently-opened Trace restaurant in the W Hotel.

On November 5, surfing aficionados from the Bay Area and around the world descended on Surfbreak Rentals' Launch Party—held at Public Works and supported by SF trendsetters Sanfranpsycho—during the world-renowned Rip Curl Pro Search.

In October 2011, the SF Documentary Film Festival marked a landmark anniversary of bringing uncompromising films to the Bay Area. In addition to nearly 60 films programmed over two October weeks, the SF IndieFest tentpole festival brought back wildly popular signature events including the infamous Roller Disco Costume Party.

The event at Cellspace welcomed hundreds of revelers determined to show off the funkiest moves found on four wheels, rehydrating with refreshing DonQ Rum and icy Staropramen beer.

Walking Papers: Passport Art Stroll through the 'Stro This Sunday

The San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery has created a unique fundraising event that may well develop into a new tradition for the city's fall arts season: a  neighborhood art walk where you can mingle with with some of San Francisco's most notable established and emerging artists, explore local enclaves and businesses, and end up with a unique, collaborative art piece which you can contemplate over cocktails.

On September 23, the Associates of Saint Francis Memorial Hospital hosted the third annual White Caps and Night Caps charity event to benefit the hospital’s Intensive Care and Critical Care Units.

The popular event was a resounding success, raising $20,000 to support the hospital’s purchase of an essential piece of new equipment, an MRI Infusion Pump, which safely delivers medications and sedatives during MRI scans. It will benefit over 1,200 patients annually who receive treatment at Saint Francis. More than 325 supporters enjoyed a sensational evening of dancing, cocktails, a gourmet buffet dinner and a stellar silent auction while overlooking the starlit water of the San Francisco Bay.

On September 24, San Francisco's pet-izens hopped, trotted, flew and sauntered to Patricia's Green, the lovely strip of park in Hayes Valley on Octavia between Hayes and Fell, for SF DOGMA, a day to explore local arts, crafts and businesses—and to celebrate our city's uniquely dedicated love for our pets!

Your City, Your Chef 2011: Arthur Wall of Garcon

7x7's gastronistas aimed straight at the heart of San Francisco's food scene to anoint chef Arthur Wall—of the Mission's pioneering neighborhood bistro Garcon—as the winner of our 2011 "Your City, Your Chef" contest!

As San Francisco's status as one of the world's most vibrant culinary centers continues to thrill—with its head-to-tail feasts, two- and four-wheeled entrepreneurs, and molecularly gastronomic foams—it seems fitting that 7x7's readers and web users determined that the City's next bright talent would be found situated in the center of its most vibrant, diverse and celebrated dining destination.

On September 21, 7x7 staged one of our liveliest signature events at AT&T Park. San Francisco's most innovative, exciting and influential citizens joined hundreds boisterous, athletic supporters on the Club Level overlooking the stunning field of our world champion SF Giants.

On September 1, Grammy Award winner Alanis Morissette headlined a fundraising concert at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco to benefit the building of a new home for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Special guest Jay Leno opened the show, which was underwritten by the Salesforce.com Foundation. DJ will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas spun at an exclusive after-party.

The new UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital at Mission Bay will be part of a 289-bed integrated hospital complex for children, women and cancer patients. Upon completion in 2014, the 183-bed children’s hospital will set a new world-class standard for patient- and family-centered health care, safety, sustainability and translational medicine.
