Look of the Week: Masters of Venice Masquerade

Look of the Week: Masters of Venice Masquerade

This Saturday evening, ArtPoint will present Masters of Venice: A Masked Ball at the de Young. The festive affair -- elegant black tie dress code with mysterious Venetian masks strongly encouraged -- will celebrate the close of the Masters of Venice: Paintings of passion and Power from the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna

Chances are, you've already chosen a stunning dress and envy-ensuing heels, but have you settled on an evening clutch and mask to match?

SF Street Style: A Young Male Model Makes Grunge Work in Civic Center

SF Street Style: A Young Male Model Makes Grunge Work in Civic Center

This week, we're going grunge. There's just something about JE Model, Bryce Jamison's boyish good looks and grunge-revival get-up that's both contradictory, and yet, complementary. At 16-years-old, Jamison may be young, but he's already busy owning his casually eclectic personal style and making the most of SF's underground scene.

Seven Favorite Things: Candystore Collective

What started out in 2004 as a pop-up shop by Jennifer Jones, eventually turned into Candystore Collective, a heart-of-the-Mission womenswear outpost that vigorously supports independent design. The boutique recently launched a new website with easier browsing, and a fresh supply of contemporary womenswear and home accessories.

Look of the Week: Local Valentine's Gifts for Her

This year, skip the flowers and box chocolates and, instead, step it up with a thoughtful gift that's perfect for her. We pulled from SF's best and found hip, fun Valentine's Day gifts for every personality.

SF Street Style: Classic Red, White, Blue + A Custom 2-Speed on Van Ness

SF Street Style: Classic Red, White, Blue + A Custom 2-Speed on Van Ness

I see a lot of great bike fashion around SF, but the problem is, it's always zooming by. Well, last weekend, we were lucky enough to catch Gavin Grant as he stopped for a red light on Van Ness. I really like how crisp and clean his look is, and it's also refreshing to see a looser fit done right.

From Minneapolis to SF: a.anthony designs' Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

We got word of a new designer in town, a.anthony designs by Anna Anthony, and immediately fell in love with her Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook (photographed locally in the Presidio and at the Lyon St. Steps).

After launching a.anthony designs a year ago in Minneapolis, Anthony and her husband relocated to SF last October, with all eyes forward. "San Francisco is such a great market to be in, as the fashion here is a culmination of many different influences from all over the globe," she said.

Men's Look of the Week: 10 Ultra Manly iPad + Tablet Cases

Rugged. Handsome. Functional. Everything you'd want in a tablet case, no? With clever new designs and materials like aircraft-grade aluminum (#5), premium selvage denim (#6), and re-purposed WWII canvas (#9) being used to protect your precious cargo, tablet cases are now more manly than ever.

SF Street Style: Two Cold Weather Looks on Market St.

SF Street Style: Two Cold Weather Looks on Market St.

We spotted partners Liz King (left) and Judith Powell (right), toughing the weather in cute coats and distressed boots, while out for a shop on Market St. Liz works retail development and oversees some of the construction of Apple stores, and Judith is the executive director of The First Tee of SF, a youth development program. When they're not hard at work, the two are busy shopping and eating local, in SF and beyond.

Look of the Week: The Tribal Print Clutch

Turning trends you love into time-tested staples is simply about finding new ways to incorporate them into your seasonal wardrobe.

Look of the Week: Canvas Rucksacks for the Urban Gentleman

Let's face it, briefcases aren't for everyone. In fact, they aren't ideal for most modern men. Enter the rising rucksack: mixing schoolyard nostalgia and vintage design appeal into one hyper-functional bag.
