Every September we look forward to Macy's Glamorama, an annual, rockstar-meets-runway benefit show with huge headlining acts. Each summer, Glamorama tours four major cities -- Minneapolis, Chicago, and Los Angeles, with a finale in Macy's home-base, San Francisco.
Surprisingly enough, a few tickets are still available for this Friday's event at the Orpheum Theater, with the mad musical skills of Bruno Mars and Far East Movement, and the high-fashion prowess of Tracy Reese. Tickets also get you access to an exclusive after-party with the performers, at the Asian Art Museum.
I caught up with Nadiya Suwardi, an associate at Prada, while shopping in Hayes Valley. Nadiya exudes this very cool, rock 'n' roll confidence, but has a killer sweetheart smile to balance the toughness. The contrasts -- two-toned hair, delicate yet badass tattoos, the floral-on-leopard prints, and how the flirty hemline of her dress falls so nicely into a chunky heel -- are what make this look really great.
The weather may be saying summer, but our fashion minds can't stop channeling fall. We're currently obsessing over the early-bird Fall 2011 finds at local boutique, Conifer.
From staples like Rachel Comey and Woolrich menswear to Pendleton's striking new Portland Collection, (designed by Nathaniel Crissman, Rachel Turk of church & state, and the Decemberists' personal outfitter, John Blasioli.), take a look above to see the cold-weather goodies we're coveting.
One dress + six accessories = a slew of fun looks. For this weekend's SF Cocktail Week, we'll focus on just two: day and night. For more casual events like today's East Bay Showdown, or Sunday's Belvedere Bloody Mary Brunch, go for the funkier day look. For fancier soirees like tomorrow's Barbary Coast Bazaar, or Saturday's The Legend Awards, doll-up for a glitzier evening look.
All summer long the Levi's Mobile Bike Shop has been parading around the country, stopping in select cities to set up a pop-up bike carnival, in celebration of the Commuter Series by Levi's (available at Urban Outfitters). The crew has traveled a long way from NYC, but they're finally here -- the hometown celebration starts this afternoon at Levis HQ.
I spotted Liz Jackson yesterday, first at Flipper's, then at CAPSULE in Hayes Valley. And, well, I'm pretty sure I have a girl crush. Liz was sporting this perfectly androgynous outfit and had the attitude and smile to really carry it off.
This look comes down to the details. I love the layered, open henley and shirt collars, the varied sleeve lengths, the thick suspenders, the blue-on-blue, the messy hair -- basically the whole look, right down to white rubber band bracelet, and random rocking chair tat.

With row after row of booth after booth, shopping at design festivals can be pretty overwhelming. Heck, browsing Etsy online is daunting enough.
But wait...shopping is supposed to be fun, right? Well, to help ease the pain, we filtered through the full load of 130 designers and selected our top picks for the CAPSULE Urban Air Market, this Sunday in Hayes Valley. It's simple -- look through the gallery, mark your favorites, grab a cone at Smitten, and get your shop on.
Local stylist Alix Jiang, caught outside Four Barrel (my new favorite hot spot for shooting Street Style), enjoying a nice iced coffee. Adorable bowl-cut and statement glasses aside, the way her breezy parachute pants moved is what really caught my eye.
