Lovely and Local: Ten SF-Made Bridesmaids Gifts

Lovely and Local: Ten SF-Made Bridesmaids Gifts

By

All you single people duck and cover, it's wedding season! The focus on buying and sourcing locally for weddings is here to stay, so we've compiled a list of 100% SF-made gifts for brides to properly thank any bridesmaid in a San Francisco kind of way.

1. Yellow Owl Workshop - Neon Je T'aime Pendant, $44

Christine Schmidt is the creator behind the adorable Yellow Owl Workshop. She started with hand-printed cards, but has now expanded her business to whimsical 22-karat gold pendants. Everything is made in her Mission studio and comes in a super-adorable test tube packaging.

2. Lila B. - On The Bias, $65

Give your girls something they can appreciate every day, like an on-trend mini succulent garden. Lila B. is a certified SF Green Business, and along with creating gorgeous terrariums they run a florist business, open studio, and local garden. You can check out their brick-and-mortar shop at Workspace (Folsom and 17th), a facility that houses 65 artists working across varying mediums, or take a peek at their Dogpatch garden, where they integrate city-grown flowers with their own plants.

3. Studiopatro' - Piece of Cake Set, $42

This SF-based textile company partnered with a local woodworker to create a handmade wooden server made with either cherry, ash or bradford pear wood, and paired with their cake towel. The pink color is bright and cheery, and the presentation adorable. Being a bridesmaid should be a piece of cake, right?!

4. Made by Maru - Crème de Menthe Necklace, $23

Who wouldn't love this delicate piece of jewelry made with mint-green Czech glass beads and 14K gold chain? The price is totally reasonable–especially when you factor in that the necklace is handmade in the city by jeweler Stacy Haywood.

5. Joshu+Vela - Natural+Tan Two Tone Tote, $75

Treat your girls to an upscale canvas tote that will last them a lifetime. It may be a bit on the pricey side, but given that Joshu+Vela uses only organic, USA-grown canvas and natural dyes and hand-makes each bag, we think it's worth it.

6. Soap - Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Lipbalm, $4.50

The lip-treat is made from all organic and vegan products, looks adorable and smells fantastic. Soap creator Hiromi makes all her products herself in SF, and we think these sweet little lip balms would brighten any bridesmaid's day.

7. Friedasophie - Herkimer Diamond Necklace, $39

Handcrafted in SF, this lovely pendant necklace is made from a Herkimer natural quartz stone. We're digging the fact that you could get matching necklaces for your bridesmaids, but each would still be unique, given the variation in quartz of each necklace. Plus crystals are supposed to promote calm–just what any bride needs at all times.

8. Workshop SF - Makeup Mastery: Luscious Lashes + Dark Lips, $56

If your maids are local, a fun class you could all do together might be the best gift of all. Workshop SF has plenty of makeup classes (other options include "Cat Eyes and Bright Lips", and "Smokey Eyes and Nude Lips"), but if girly-girl stuff isn't your thing, they also offer workshops on everything from making homemade pasta and sauces, to "Intro to Power Tools".

9. The Bold Italic - Emergency Hook-Up Prepardness Kit, $6

You may be getting married, but at least your single friends can still have some fun. Made by our friends at The Bold Italic–a combination online magazine, event space, and shop.

10. Gallery of Jewels - Corey Egan Fragment Stud Earrings, $279

Gallery of Jewels carries all independent jewelry designers, and SF-based Corey Egan is one of our favorites. These earrings are expensive, but we love how they are feminine and beautiful without crossing into too-girly territory. We can totally see a city girl getting a ton of use out of them during a wedding weekend, and then at work the next day!
