When Natalie Harris and Matthew Wages met, there was a strong attraction. Still, as is the case with most good love stories, there were problems. For one thing, they were both dating other people. And while he was in his element foraging for wild mushrooms in the forest, she was more inclined to be searching for designer stilettos in a luxury department store. When the stars finally aligned and both were single, her sister texted him to tell him so. He replied that Natalie was too "high maintenance" for his taste. After a chance encounter at a pub, they quickly decided the hunt was over. "It was like an insta-relationship. Just add water," says Natalie. Three years later, they decided to wed.
You want your wedding to have it all: elegance, creativity, and fun. But the planning that goes into such an event has you stalled before you start down the aisle. Connie Kearns, a wedding planner and founder of San Francisco Wedding Fair (happening Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.), suggests that a visit to a wedding fair is just the thing to jumpstart preparations for the big event.
Are you a wedding fair neophyte? Fear not, Kearns has the answers to questions from the uninitiated.
Erin and Eric met in school at Southern Methodist University in Texas. They relocated to the Bay Area from Texas several years ago. Texas runs strong in the grooms family - they even brought some soil from Texas and sprinkled it at the ceremony site. They were married under the redwoods in Calistoga and then had enjoyed the delicious food and atmosphere at Greystone, the Culinary Institute of America across the street. Erin wore a Monique Lhuillier gown. The wedding was planned by the fabulous Sasha Souza events.

Ursula & Greg's wedding was at the hotel Solage in Calistoga. They had to make some last minute changes due to rain but managed to move everything under the awning and the ceremony went off without a hitch. The groomsmen had fun touring around on the hotel's cruiser bikes and the bride and groom had their own special bike decorated for an exit.
Kris Branco had long been Erin Thacker’s secret crush, and she had been his. But she lived in San Francisco, and he lived in Providence, Rhode Island. They saw each other infrequently when visiting friends, so it didn’t seem to be in the cards. But while dancing at their friends' wedding, they couldn’t deny their feelings for each other. “I knew that I loved him the moment my hand touched his,” says Erin. “He kept whispering ‘you have no idea,’ so I knew he felt it too.” Two days later, she delayed her flight to SF for four hours just so they could be together at the airport.
She is American, he is Italian, they met while studying abroad in Spain. The ceremony was held in Northern California near her parent's vacation home in Sea Ranch, near Gualala. The ceremony was on a cliff over looking the ocean with two officiants, one speaking Italian (groom's cousin) and one English (bride's sister). The reception was held above a general store off Highway 1. The wall-to-wall mixed wood planks made the interior very rustic, with decor from earlier settlers of the area. A large chandelier, hand picked flowers and home made favors set an intimate tone. Many well wishes of love were expressed in both Italian and English.
This amazing wedding had many elements that the bride did herself, such as the pinwheels which were used as escort cards. Even the self-portrait photo booth that the guests had their picture taken inside of "frames" was made by the bride. They had many "school" elements as the bride is an elementary school teacher, such as the guest book made out of old library cards.
