M2057, a New Line By Mario Pinto

What: Calling all fashionistas: Maria Pinto is coming to SF. The Chicago-based designer has dressed everyone from First Lady Michelle Obama to Oprah and even the characters on Empire. Yet despite her global audience, Pinto chose San Francisco to debut her newest line, M2057—made up of amazing Italian fabrics that combine classic silhouettes with contemporary edge. She'll be hosting a week-long pop-up (her first, ever) at the Digital Garage next week. Sip on bubbly while hearing Maria talk, and even get a personal consultation from the lady herself. Next Wave Choreographers Showcase

What: The Black Choreographers festival is presenting "Next Wave Choreographers Showcase: New Voices, New Works" this weekend, which celebrates the diversity within African and African-American dance expression. This showcase in particular stands out as the dancers will attempt to tackle what the "Black Lives Matter" movement means to them. Tickets are between $10 and $30—grab them now to check out these powerful performances.

The "F" Word

Fauxnique at the Oasis

What: The fierce and frank Fauxnique is back! The first cis woman to win a major drag pageant is back on stage to talk about that dreaded F-word: Feminism. Featuring some favorite sketches combined with fresh material, check out the lady dominating the male-dominated world of drag. Tickets start at $20 ($25 at the door).

When: February 17th - February 21st, 7pm

Alfred's Back!

Alfred's Steakhouse

What: For once we're not saying goodbye to a beloved San Francisco establishment. Under chef Charlie Parker's tutelage, Alfred's Steakhouse will be re-opening it's doors this weekend. The popular restaurant was purchased by the Daniel Patterson Group (Coi, Haven) in 2015, and after a little TLC, this 88-year-old local favorite is refreshed and ready to kick off another golden century.

Calling All Curly Girls

JCCSF Meets Madusalon

What: San Francisco's premier curly-girl hair salon, Madusalon, has teamed up with JCCSF to dedicate an evening to all things curly. The salon's founder, Marie FCesar will be discussing everything pertaining to curls, whether it's the political or personal. Join the discussion and figure out just what curls mean to you. (Psst: show up early and watch curly cuts by professional stylists from Madusalon. If you register, you can win a giant basket of Deva products, along with a cut from Marie FCesar herself!)

NBA Art Show Opening Party
