Now in its 23rd year, San Jose's annual Cinequest Film Festival is renowned as a preeminent discovery ground for cinema and media innovation. Beginning February 26, this year's lineup features an international spread of top-notch artists, films, and technologies, including special appearances by Salman Rushdie and Harrison Ford.
You'll get the chance to view eighty-five world premieres from 48 countries, including star performances from some of the most respected actors working today, as well as state-of-the-art film viewing and film making technologies, thanks to Sony 4K; their film astonishing restorations of classics such as Taxi Driver, Lawrence of Arabia and Dr. Strangelove will be on display, as well as opportunities for attendees to learn about their technologies for their business or home use.
Cinequest's special Maverick Spirit Award will be given to two industry luminaries for their leadership: Harrison Ford and Salman Rushdie, who will both be in attendance to receive the award. Both have proved to be daring and innovative, with a personal yet global vision for their respective fields.
