Five Reasons to Head to Napa for Thanksgiving

If you want to avoid the usual hosting, cooking and cleaning Thanksgiving entails, Napa Valley is a pretty sweet spot to escape. Here are five reasons to go for the holiday:

Meadowood pulls out all the stops with “The Great Thanksgiving Escape.” This over-the-top package includes Thanksgiving dinner for two, breakfast, a bottle of sparkling wine, unlimited golf, tennis, and croquet, $150 spa credit, a horse-drawn carriage ride.

The Meritage Fall Getaway Package includes upgrades, wine tastings, and all kinds of frills. But it’s their special Thanksgiving dinner that earned this convenient spot a place on this list. Choose from a savory prix fixe menu that includes turkey carving at your table plus all the fixings and leftovers. Or, stay in the comfort of your room and they’ll bring it all to you.

Villagio’s Harvest in Yountville package comes with two nights of accommodation, a bottle of wine, a Champagne breakfast, two 50-minute wellness massages, wine tastings, and assorted small gifts. While they don’t offer a special Thanksgiving dinner as a part of the package, you’ll have no trouble finding a spot to eat as Yountville is lined with some of region's best restaurants.

Silverado Resort and Spa’s famous Thanksgiving buffet is already sold out, but their overnight package still has room. This tasty feast comes with three nights in a two-bedroom suite and access to all of Silverado's amenities. The dinner and package is “designed for adults” so it's perfect for couples, singles, or empty-nesters.

Bardessono is known for their farm-to-table restaurant, Lucy, and for finding the perfect balance between sustainability and luxury. This is the place to go if dessert is your favorite part of Thanksgiving because their Sweet Yountville Package comes with tasty treats from Bouchon Bakery, Kollar Chocolates, and all kinds of other delights. And they offer an incredible Thanksgiving meal, so try not to fill up on all the sweets before dinner.

If you’re just looking to get out of town for a special evening, take a ride on the Wine Train for their Thanksgiving Dinner special, or try the dinner specials at La Toque or the Kitchen Door.
