Wedding Inspiration: A Stanford Couple's Romantic Foodie Fête

By

When a couple of Stanford Ph.D alums, nature lovers, foodies, and world travelers decided to tie the knot, they went all out, planning a bash as epic as their passions.

At Regale Winery in quaint Los Gatos, Lyndia Wu and Calvin Kuo threw down a feast for their guests, with an entire suckling pig accompanied by ahi tuna bites, mini sandwiches, sweet potato noodles, and roasted duck. And while the food was a star of this affair, each element, down to the three stunning wardrobe changes, was executed with extreme care.

Set against a backdrop of the rolling Santa Cruz mountains, the winery, with its sweet old barn, proved to be a magical setting. String lights twinkled overhead as the lovebirds walked hand in hand in an exquisite rose garden, and a palette of ivory and peach exuded elegance and warmth in bountiful florals and table decor.

The bride wore three gorgeous gowns: In keeping with tradition, she donned the requisite red and gold, along with a delicate gilded crown, for her tea ceremony; her wedding dress was classic, with a graceful off-shoulder neckline and mid-length lace sleeves; and for the reception, she opted for a sultry off-shoulder number in a deep shade of wine, appropriate for the karaoke dance party that ensued.

Photographer Alex Zyuzikov says all could feel the love: "You could definitely tell how much they enjoy each other—their faces lit up whenever their eyes connected.
