Wedding Inspiration: A Disney-Inspired Garden Fete in Sunny San Martin

The love story of Kittie Buck and Justin Martin is a tale as old as time.

As teenagers, the lovebirds dated for just a short stint, and then they then became friends in college. But just friends. It was when they reconnected a third time as adults, that sparks began to fly. But it wasn't until a trip to the happiest place on earth—one of their favorite getaways—that Martin got down on one knee in front of Disney castle and presented his princess with a custom-made ring with a diamond and sapphires.

For her fairytale wedding, Buck selected a tulle frock with lace and beaded detail—after all, no princess is complete without her gown. She wanted something "lightweight with an interesting back" so she could move freely throughout the day. She also added a sash and belt for "a little bit of color and sparkle." A pair of glittery sandals finished the look. "Sparkly rose-gold? Don't mind if I do!"

The groom wore a simple navy suit—classy but versatile enough for future use. They each had one attendant, so outfits were easy. Her maid of honor chose her own dress in a matching blue hue, and the best man donned a grey suit with navy vest.

For the big day, they included whimsical mementos in a nod to their love of Disneyland. "We wanted a magical, anything-is-possible vibe," says Buck. Adding to the intimate ceremony, the guests were arranged in a semi-circle around a sweeping oak tree wrapped in flowers. Buck walked down the aisle over rose petals to an instrumental version of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love."

For the reception, navy and white linens were brought to life with sunny florals—canary and ivory roses and bluebells bloomed from various textures of greenery. DIY lanterns and Disney couples (like Minnie and Mickey Mouse kissing) adorned the tables to capture the spirit of their engagement. Each was surrounded by lush arrangements, while a garland of the same variety was draped over their sweetheart table. To keep guests entertained, lawn games and a photo booth added to the lighthearted atmosphere.

After dinner, the party moved into the wooden barn where the dancing commenced; the first of which was the newlyweds sashaying to "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran and Beyonce. String lights overhead exuded a warm radiance in the dance hall, while tropical drinks with pineapple brought a warm glow to guests' faces.
