There was a grand plan for Julia Dadiomov and Jeffrey Kauffman that began with his brother and her cousin—good friends who wanted to become real brothers. Their parents got in on it too and a family dinner was held, but Dadiomov and Kauffman didn't exchange more than two words that night.

Five years later, Kauffman showed up at Dadiomov's door. It was 11pm and he was hungry. Two years after that, he proposed in San Francisco fashion: The techie asked her to check his code.

The two did it big for their special day. The Palace Hotel in San Francisco was selected for its flexibility when it came to achieving all the elements the couple wanted in keeping with their Russian-Jewish culture, including a sprawling space to accommodate a large guest list and a massive feast. Before the ceremony, they stepped out for photo ops and even danced to the sounds of an accordion player outside of the Ferry Building. Then it was time to get serious...sort of.

Sporting off-the-shoulder, floor-length gowns and black tuxedos, the wedding party escorted the bride and groom into the ceremony. Beneath an arch made of glass blocks, the light-filled aisle was lined with petals and towering candelabras topped with cream and pink roses. A platform at the end held a chuppah adorned in meandering florals. The pair said their vows, sipped vino, and smashed the glass before descending back down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs.

At the reception, the food played a starring role, with an entire table of appetizers followed by multiple courses and then a spread of sweet treats. The lovebirds danced, were carried in chairs, a round of the Hora ensued, followed by a little limbo. And finally, shots for all!
