For fine-art photographer Michelle Pattee, inspiration lies right outside her Sebastopol farmhouse—a bird’s nest, a blooming flower, the bicycle by the shed. After two years of R & D, the Bay Area native has partnered with interior designer Jill McCrae to launch Archival Decor, a product collection that transfers Pattee’s photographs onto home accessories. “I choose images that are graceful, organic, and won’t look dated in a year,” says the artist, whose captures are hand-screened onto hemp, cotton velvet, and faux leather, then layered onto throw pillows and ottomans for a vintage feel. Archival Decor emphasizes working with expert craftspeople in SF, Glen Ellen, and Marin (as well as Pattee’s own carpenter husband). Look for a new square ottoman covered in Archival Decor’s signature gardenia print and, this summer, products inspired by the sea (starfish, sand dollars). Shop the brand at Gumps, Barneys New York, and Anthem in Pacific Heights.
