Foxtail Ferns
While the weather is still warm, I'm attempting to turn the concrete breezeway at the back of my flat into a functional patio. I've become obsessed with foxtail ferns—they're so weird and architectural. And I love the outdoor tables and chairs made of recycled metals from the French company Fermob. They carry them at Flora Grubb in an array of styles and colors.

National Tequila Day at Tamarindo
In honor of National Tequila Day, I’m tossing back a couple of margaritas at Tamarindo in Oakland this weekend. Their Margarita de la Casa is perfect, made with el charro silver, lime, simple syrup, and a chile salt rim, but if you want a real kicker opt for the Margarita de Tamarindo (with a housemade fresh tamarind puree) or El Fabuloso with Don Julio reposado, torres, agave, and a chile salt rim. Delish!
