Cancel all your plans: A new cafe in the Inner Sunset has a demonic strategy to suck up all of your free time.

Reminiscent of bubble tea cafe culture—with small tasty bites, yummy drinks, and games, the just-opened Game Parlour is here to temp us with all of the above. But instead of boba, you'll have Ritual Coffee and milkshakes, savory waffle sandwiches, sweet mochi waffles—we repeat, mochi waffles—and fried chicken battered in mochi flour. If you are super busy, we suggest you stay away.

SF natives Benson Chiu and mochi waffle maker Brian Lew, whose treats you may have tasted at the Japantown Cherry Blossom Festival, have transformed Taqueria Dos Amigos into a bright space with an espresso bar and space to play games all day for just $5. The city's "first board game cafe" comes to us thanks to a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $27,000.

The menu is entirely gluten-free with zesty and sweet lunch and dinner fare, some of which Lew has named after board games—think Bananagrams (a mochi waffle with banana, Nutella, chocolate, and coconut whipped cream) and the Mouse Trap (a crispy garlic and onion waffle sandwich with sharp cheddar, gruyere and fontina cheese). There are also build-your-own options.

For those looking for a round of gaming, the cafe has a searchable collection of just about everything you can imagine, from trivia and word games to horror and fantasy fare. You can also just head over to their endless shelves of games and pick one out. The idea is to create a sense of community and increase personal and physical interactions. What better way to make new friends than by sharing mochi morsels over a friendly game of Monopoly?
