Although San Francisco is full of artists of all stripes, a select few capture the creative spirit that so characterized the '60s in our city. One local artistic couple is bringing their own renaissance to their Mission apartment, thanks to a design aesthetic that seamlessly melds the carefree ease of the Summer of Love with their neighborhood's contemporary artisan and upcycling movement.

Local fashion blogger Jessica Marie describes Thread and Bones as a "visual diary of style, scenery, and SF secrets," and she certainly delivers. With features ranging from a Haight-Ashbury photo diary to a highly covetable loft picnic, Marie's bohemian-chic aesthetic is evident in her sartorial choices as well as her decor style. The other half of the artistic duo, M.B. Maher, has a penchant for finely crafted cocktails, evident in the eclectic vintage barware and impressive array of bitters sprinkled throughout the apartment. The couple recently launched a wedding photography business, Ritual Photowork, which also showcases their unique aesthetic style.

The couple sourced the majority of the apartment's pieces from the Alameda Flea Market and Mission neighborhood boutiques. Marie and Maher traveled internationally for nearly a year, and souveniers of their travels pop up in corners of the apartment, like the throw pillow covers from India that their cat, Banksy, has claimed as his own.
