Known for her rich, powerful, contralto voice, Paula West has been delighting audiences with her smooth jazz vocals for over three decades. Although she's most known for her memorable jazz standards, West brings an eclectic song list to any venue, including contemporary American classics like "Mr. Tambourine Man." Now is your chance to see the stellar songstress right here in San Francisco, as she begins a month long reign at Feinstein's at the Nikko. 

Paula's career has crisscrossed the globe for concerts and cabaret residencies in San Francisco, Istanbul, Moscow, and New York, where her nights at the Algonquin Hotel’s famed Oak Room have earned her three straight New YorkMagazine Nightlife Awards as “Outstanding Female Jazz Vocalist.” The New York Times has been particularly vocal in their praise for West, singling out her “thickly textured voice [that] has ripened into a driving expressive force” and an “ever-deepening feel for the blues.” She has also performed at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis, The White House and Maison de la Musique in Paris. That's quite a resume! 

San Franciscans are in for a special treat, however, since Paula has put together a new show just for the Nikko, with pianist Adam Shulman – who did most of the arrangements – the first two weeks, and Bruce Barth taking over for the final two weeks. The combo will include West regulars Ed Cherry on guitar, Jerome Jennings on drums, and Barak Mori on bass. As always, the set will include a Bob Dylan song, as well as songs by Hank Williams, Rodgers and Hart and Cole Porter, and other American favorites. 

In other words, audiences can expect a brand-new show with many of the signature touches that have made West an audience favorite for years. Don't miss out!
