Shop Talk: Step out in Rothy's zodiac flats, Cuyana's new Body collection + more fashionable news

By

San Francisco shoe brand Rothy's has always been planet-friendly, but now the stars have aligned for a collection of flats to fit every zodiac sign.

Plus, Cuyana launches its first Body collection with five pieces that satisfy our need for quality bodysuits and leggings, and cult-fave skincare brand Malin + Goetz's has opened shop in Hayes Valley.

Who doesn't want fewer, better underthings, right Cuyana?

For the first time, the San Francisco leather goods and apparel brand is turning its attention to what lies beneath: Cuyana Body launches today. The five-piece collection, designed to enhance and complement wardrobes, includes three bodysuits—a tank; a cross-back tank; and a long-sleeve—leggings, and a pair of long shorts. Everything is seamless (😍), comfortable, and black (🖤). Available in sizes XS through XL, prices range from $65 to $95. // Cuyana, 291 Geary St., 2nd floor (Union Square), cuyana.com.

Forget about wearing hearts on sleeves—we're all about zodiac signs on our feet.

Get in on the cosmic comfort with a pair of Rothy's new limited-edition navy loafers. Next time someone asks "what's your sign," just point to your feet—specifically to your right heel bearing the ram, the twins, the scales, etc., in twinkling silver embroidery. Adding to the shoes' moody vibe is a shimmery celestial pattern sprinkled on the toe of one loafer and back of the other. Along with gussying up your wardrobe, here's hoping these babies will kick those less-than-stellar horoscopes to the curb. Available in sizes 5 through 12, priced at $165. // Rothys, 2448 Fillmore St. (Pacific Heights), rothys.com

Score another one for Hayes Valley as Malin + Goetz skincare moves into the 'hood.

In Hayes Valley, shelf upon shelf of M+G goodies.

Just like its instantly recognizable packaging, Malin +Goetz' brand-new boutique is minimalist yet seductive. A sophisticated gray facade makes way for a small, bright interior where blond wood shelves hold meticulously arranged lotions and potions, serums and scrubs. For the un-indoctrinated, the almost 15-year-old M+ G is known for simple, effective, and customized skin and grooming products for guys and gals. Focusing on face, body and hair, everything is made with trusted natural ingredients along with proven technologies that perform without sacrificing luxury—or giving wallets heart attacks. Fragrance and candles (including the signature cannabis candle) round out the selection. Make sure to ask for samples and help from the knowledgeable team. Along with the aforementioned candle, we'll be making a beeline for the mojito lip balm, to which our puckers are unabashedly addicted. // Malin + Goetz, 508 Hayes St. (Hayes Valley), malinandgoetz.com

These SF-made jeans serve up a delicious new combo.

It may be cold and foggy AF, but with Over Winter jeans, you can feel a bit of summer on your skin.

Guys, you have local Ryan Mathews to thank for a totally rad pairing: denim and board shorts. We're definitely over the moon about Over Winter, his men's brand that brings together top-notch Italian and Japanese denim with drawstring waistbands made from super-soft fabrics in colorful and cool prints. The locally made jeans come in a straight and slim silhouette, and their origin story is an interesting one: When a fog-bound Mathews found himself nostalgic for the 10 years he spent living in sunny SoCal (and flip-flops), he took matters into his own hands and cobbled together his first prototype by hacking up a pair of his jeans and sewing in the waistband of a pair of surf shorts. Eureka, indeed. The jeans sell for $225, and are available online and at Scott Lyall men's stores in Napa and Sonoma. // overwinter.co
