Do you remember that fall day in 2013 when the entire city stopped what they were doing, left work, and watched a boy become Batkid for the day? Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area, the local chapter of the national organization that grants a wish every 37 seconds around the country, made that happen.

Since that moment, the local chapter has granted another 600 or more wishes, and they need your help again. This time, though, it involves eating and drinking. Pretty tough, right?

For the past 15 years, Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area has hosted Wine & Wishes, a fundraising event that gathers more than 50 local restaurants, wineries, brewers, and mixologists under one roof to celebrate the life-changing wishes that inspire hope, strength, and joy in children battling serious illnesses. Wine & Wishes offers a chance to experience a whirlwind tour of the Bay Area’s culinary and wine making scene without having to make a single dinner reservation.

The event, held at the chic San Francisco Design Center Galleria, begins with a Food & Wine Tasting and silent auction. This is followed by a four-course Winemaker Dinner and live auction, with each course prepared by a celebrity chef. Never been to State Bird Provisions? The two chef owners will be preparing one of the courses. Wish you had scored a ticket to one of the Adele concerts in the Bay Area? We’ll be auctioning some off.
