GLEN ELLEN STAR GOES PALEO
Continue on the diet trend train with a stop at Glen Ellen Star to taste from their new paleo menu. Starting Wednesday, September 16, and every following Wednesday through October 28, Glen Ellen Star will offer a paleo pickup dinner menu including such dishes as grass-fed flatiron with cauliflower and salsa verde; wood roasted padron peppers with shabazi spice; and artichoke escabeche with red wine vinegar and compressed radicchio. PICNIC ON THIRD OPENS FOR BRUNCH
Just when you thought the city didn't need any more brunch places, casual eatery Picnic on Third is throwing their hat in the (heaping) pile. Starting Sunday, September 20th from 10am-2pm (and only open only on Sundays for now), you can chow down on tasty comfort food such as overnight chile braised pork with soft polenta, collard greens and poached eggs ($13); two-potato hash with bacon lardons, Brussels sprouts, spring onion and fried eggs ($12.5); or Leigh's stone ground multi-grain pancakes with caramelized apple, maple and cultured butter ($12). House-made chai, espresso drinks from Contraband coffee, house-made cold brew, and Jittery John’s cold brew on nitro round out the beverage offerings. CHILE PIES UNDERGOES MAJOR RENOVATIONS
Huge changes are underway at Chile Pies. They're planning a remodel, expanding the bakery at their Baker Street location, and have officially closed their Church Street location for good. The sad news: the Baker St. location is closed until September 10. The good news: they'll reopen on Friday, September 11 with new savory pie and cake menus! They're also changing their name to Chile Pies Baking Co.
