No doubt San Francisco pops off on New Year’s Eve, but the Wine Country also knows how to let the corks fly in style. This year, take a break from tradition, or start a new one, with a masquerade ball, concert, or romantic night in Napa or Sonoma. Here are some top party picks paired with places stay:

NAPA

Domaine Chandon’s étoile restaurant is hosting their annual, super-classy shindig. Dawn your snazziest outfit and prepare to be satiated by delicate treats, tiny bubbles, and tasty wines. Then dance the night away to The Blue Moon Band’s classic covers of “Brown Eyed Girl” and “How Sweet it is”. $300, seatings begin at 7:00 p.m., stay at Bardessono or elsewhere in Yountville.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve experience, join the wine club and head to Castello di Amorosa’s Masquerade Ball. This full-sized, authentic, Italian castle is one of the best event venues in the Bay Area. SONOMA

Locals will tell you that the “Alchemy” party at Spoonbaris “the spot” in Sonoma for New Year’s Eve. The Flamingo Resort in Santa Rosa has decided to go big this year.
