Tuesday, March 15: Season six Top Chef contender Preeti Mistry launches a new SoMa lunch spot called Juhu Beach Club, across from Bar Agricole and Slim’s. Inspired by a recent trip to Mumbai, Mistry's $10 a la carte Indian street food menu includes pay bahji, a kind of vegetarian Sloppy Joe, as well as samosas and house-made pickles. Wednesday, March 16:Self-proclaimed “vanilla queen” Patricia Rain, “saffron king” Juan San Mames, and Divine Chocolates’ Mark Magers lead a panel on the politically unstable countries that produce these foods.
