July 3 - 7

Renowned dessert artists Christian and Christian of Moustache Baked Goods are hosting a pop-up in the city this week. Known for reviving classic desserts with a modern twist, expect treats such as sea salt caramel cake and homemade s’mores with chocolate ganache. See you in line. 10 am – 8 pm, Weds - Sun. July 4 - 7

Sweeten your 4th of July celebration with some all-American treats. Flour + Co makes all of their delectable goodies from scratch, and they’re still taking orders for pickup July 4-7.  Items like Cherry and Blueberry Pie ($28) and Blueberry Crisp ($30) will make your taste buds feel patriotic. Order online or come in between 6:30 am and 4 pm on July 4. Flour + Co, 1030 Hyde Street.

July 5

Independence Day may be over, but you can still exercise your freedom to eat delicious food. Get your fix by heading to Wine Country for the annual Chef’s Patio BBQ at Hurley’s Restaurant. The event includes a delicious BBQ dinner that includes trout, sausage, and tri-tip, as well as an array of salads, desserts, and sides. The event is BYOB, so bring a bottle to share, with no corkage fee. First come, first seated. $28 dollars per person. 4 pm – 6 pm. Hurley’s Restaurant, 6518 Washington Street, Yountville.

July 9

Treat yourself to an evening of tequila tastings, savory dishes, and dessert at The Claremont Hotel & Spa, organized by Barry Angus, President of Tres Agaves Products. Angus is a longtime member of the Claremont, and started Tres Agaves in his home mere blocks away from the hotel. The evening will feature tequila tastings, specialty cocktails, and paired dishes by Claremont Executive Chef Josh Ladd. It takes place poolside, as any summer event should. July 9-12

Drop anchor at Oliveto in Oakland for their Twelfth Annual Oceanic Dinners. Each night showcases fish and shellfish from off the Pacific Coast as well as from sustainable fisheries farther from home. There will be special pastas made to complement each fish, creative desserts fashioned by in-house pastry chef Kam Golighty, and plenty of fine wines for pairing with all of the above. 5655 College Avenue, Oakland.

July 12

Ooh, la la. Renowned French restaurant and wine bar RN74 will celebrate Bastille Day with a blowout fit for a Francophile. The evening features a special menu of pressed sandwiches, a raw bar, and other inspired bites by new Executive Chef Adam Sobel. There will also be a live DJ and aerial performers suspended from the ceiling. Insider tip: Wear a costume to the event and you’ll get a free drink coupon for a special Bastille Day Cocktail. July 13

Take full advantage of this juicy season with a Farmer’s Market Excursion and Cooking Class from the San Francisco Cooking School. Students will meet bright and early at the Ferry Building Farmers Market, where they will pick out produce, protein, and bread, all while interacting with the farmers who sell them. After the market, students will head back to the SF Cooking School to make a meal with the bounty they’ve purchased. The SF Cooking School also offers many other cooking classes across many cuisines.
