Design Happenings This Weekend

By

Go ahead and let out a big sigh of relief - it's Friday! And better still, the weather is feeling good and there are loads of activities around the Bay Area to keep you entertained this weekend. Here are our picks:

Pop Noir is an enormous art auction and fundraiser benefiting Southern Exposure, a local non-profit organization dedicated to promoting arts education. It's taking place this Saturday at Electric Works, and is sure to be a good time.

Alameda Point Antique Fair Yup, it's the first Sunday of the month, and you know what that means: an amazing selection of antiques and great vintage finds across the Bay in Alameda. We'll be there, will you?

Sunset Magazine's Celebration Weekend If you're a fan of Sunset Magazine then you'll want to head over to Menlo Park this weekend for the publication's 2009 Celebration Weekend. The event will include a look at their latest Idea House, over a hundred exhibitors, and a garage sale of sorts called Secondhand Sunset featuring items from the magazine's prop studio and past Idea Houses, with all proceeds going to charity. We recommend getting there early for good deals, but be ready for a crowd!

East Bay Open Studios Hop in the car and make a day out of visiting art studios, as over 400 local artists participate in this annual event. Studios will be open this weekend and next, so pick up a Directory of East Bay Arts (or download one here) soon to plan out your course. Also on the website, picks from several art critics on which studios are must sees.
