Grime Goddess

Here's M.I.A.'s new video for the Bollywood-esque track "Jimmy" off of her upcoming album Kala out August 21 on XL Recordings.  With Kala, her sophomore effort, this London-by-way-of Sri Lanka grime/rap artist has altered her look—favoring technicolored wigs and neon bodysuits—as well as her sound, which is pleasantly heavier and edgier. I'm loving the disco flavor of "Jimmy" and M.I.A.'s ghetto fab-meets-Hindu goddess style.
