Silicon Valley Eats: A Delfina-Approved Pig Roast in Burlingame

Silicon Valley Eats: A Delfina-Approved Pig Roast in Burlingame

It's a slow week for restaurant openings in the South Bay, but don't be discouraged, avid eaters! There's a slew of openings on the horizon; take this opportunity to regroup and revisit some favorites. Oh, and there's a Burlingame block party that you are not going to want to miss.

Pizzeria Delfina in Burlingame is throwing a huge bash this Sunday from 11:30 am to 3 pm celebrating the long-awaited completion of Burlingame's Streetscape Project. The "opening party" for West End Ave. features porchetta sandwiches (off a freshly-roasted pig, yum), a gelato bar, and plenty of pizza, of course, plus other tasty Delfina dishes. Tickets are $20 (kids under 12 get in free!), with beer and wine also available for purchase. All proceeds are benefitting Family Connections, which provides education resources for low-income Peninsula families. There will also be a silent auction, with hot-ticket items like a dinner for you and nine friends courtesy of Delfina chef Craig Stoll.

An important update for football season (which kicked off on Thursday!) — Steins Beer Garden in Mountain View will now open at 9:30 am on Sundays for your Niners-watching pleasure. Games will be shown on a big screen, with plenty of beers and bites to make your game day go (yes, a flank steak and brie omelet is a great idea).
