Street Style Report: A Crossroads Trading Co. Manager Shows Us Four Fierce Looks

By

Proud mama of two and manager of the Crossroads Trading Co. on Market Street, Sakura Farris is all about high energy and high style (at budget-friendly prices no-less!).

We caught up with the half-Japanese, half-Caucasian beauty in Alamo Square to see what she's wearing for days in the park with her kids, nights out dancing, and more.

What she wore: Kenzie top, leather harness, Unif leopard print studded jacket, Forever 21 faux leather leggings, and silver ring, all purchased from Crossroads Market St.Nine West suede pumps, purchased from Crossroads Irving St.; Turquoise tear drop ring, gift from friend; Thrifted bracelets; Maybelline Superstay 10hr Stain Gloss, purchased from Walgreens; Hair self cut and colored.

What she wore: American Apparel rosette top, Free People embellished hot pants, Jeffrey Campbell leather monk strap platform wedges, and oversized horn ring, all purchased from Crossroads Market St.; DKNY fishnet stockings, purchased from Bloomingdale's; Francesca's earrings; Turquoise zigzag ring, purchased from Static Vintage; Thrifted bracelets; Back of neck tattoo done in Seattle.

"I cut, style, and color my own hair and that of a lot of my friends right in mi casa," said Sakura.

"I wore this outfit to Pride this year," said Sakura. "The shorts came into the store (Crossroads) and I had to have them!"

What she wore: Mink Pink fringe crop top, H&M Divided fringe cardigan, 1990's Express paisley brocade skirt, All Saints leather booties and statement necklace, all purchased from Crossroads Market St., Barneys NY cuff, purchased from Barneys Outlet; Thrifted bracelets.

Sakura's workout secret: "I'm not a gym girl, so as of now, I dance almost every night at my house with the use of my mini trampoline. (Try it before you knock it!) Also, I am on my feet all day and walk a lot."

What she wore: Geren Ford orange top, H&M sheer striped top and horn ring, all purchased from Crossroads Market St.; Levi's jeans and turquoise zigzag ring, both purchased from Static Vintage; Studded wedge sneakers, purchased from Aldo; Tiered feather earrings and hammered metal ring, both purchased from Crossroads Irving St.; Barneys NY cuff, purchased from Barneys Outlet; Thrifted bracelets; OPI glitter nail color; Brown bear tattoo (for daughter), from Jeremy Kimzey (when he was) at One Shot.

"My daughter's name is Brown and I call her 'Brown bear'," said Sakura. "I got this tattoo for her, with her handwriting exactly, from when she was five."

Sakura's beauty secrets: "Solid coconut oil from the jar -- I eat it and slather myself and my kids in it. Amazing. Also, Psssst! dry shampoo and Kiehl's coriander oil."

Seven Questions for Sakura:

1. What's one thing on your bucket list?

Learn to aerial dance.

2. What's your summer anthem?

"Baby Step" by Brown Burmeister (daughter). It's stuck in my head!

3. What's one thing most people don't know about you?

I was once on elimiDATE, season 1. (Cringe.) I also didn't "win".

4. What seven words best describe your style?

Confident city woman juxtaposing soft and hard.

5. Where's the best place to go dancing?

Honey Soundsystem at Holy Cow on Sunday nights!

6.What's your guilty pleasure?

US magazine. It's terrible and I love it. (And so do all the people that scoff at it, but are the first to pick it up if it's sitting on my coffee table. Ha!)

7. What's your SF Top 5?

-Dolores Park. I've nurtured my friendships and kids in this park. It's a very special place that holds very special memories for me. Also, where else can you train for the circus, sunbathe nude, play with your kids, and buy some truffles all at once?

-Crossroads Trading Co. stores. As a mother of two with my love of clothing, it's the only place I can afford to grow my sense of style.

-Mission Beach Cafe. Huevos rancheros. That's all I have to say. Do it.

-Thorough Bread & Pastry. Not only am I addicted to their coffee (with local honey), but I'm also obsessed with their fruit bars. And best of all, the staff is top-notch!

-Crissy Field. Such a fun little playful beach spot right next to Golden Gate Bridge. Talk about feeling like you live in one of the seven wonders of the world!
