We spotted Japanese fashion designer and indie film producer Yuka Uehara in a lovely mix of designer threads.

What she wore:  Red knit cap, gift; Junya Wantanabe Comme des Garcons scarf, purchased in Tokyo; Maison Martin Margiela dress, purchased from Jeremy'sVivienne Westwood Red Label sweater, purchased in Tokyo; 7 For All Mankind jacket (tied around bag), purchased in NYC; Vintage leather bag, "borrowed" from father in Japan; Opaque stockings, purchased from Wolford SFRobert Clergerie red leather oxfords, purchased from La Garconne; Haircut from Melissa at Vidal Sassoon.

"I like dressing like a boy in the summer," said Yuka. "It makes you feel free and lively."

In her bag:  MAC lipstick in "Russian Red", her wallet, Kiehl's lip balm, and a fountain pen.

Street Style Profile:

1. Where do you shop?

Harputs, Barneys, Neiman, Saks. I love to go to department stores and see and feel fabrics and structures as opposed to shopping online. My favorite brands are Vivienne Westwood and Comme des Garcons.

2. What's on your wish list?

A Vivienne Westwood vintage coat that I saw at an exhibit in Tokyo in 2010. The asking price was $8,000. I still dream of that coat!

3. What's your best style tip?

Invest in frequent haircuts.

4. What's would you never be caught dead in?

Mini-skirts or any type of skimpy outfits. Brainy is sexy. I can't step out the door without wearing tights.

5. What products do you swear by?

I don't use hair products, but for skincare -- everything from MyChelle. It's all natural, vegan and cruelty free. Also, Not a Perfume by Juliette Has a Gun.

6. What do you do to de-stress?

Yoga, visit hot springs, take trips to the mountains, cook a homey meal, and treat myself to facials and massages.

7. What's your SF Top 5?

-SFMOMA.

-Bio Cafe by Union Square -- AKA, the French Lady - I love all of her vegan treats!

-The Ferry Building -- and the Farmer's Market makes it even better.

-Grace Cathedral. I love to sit and just be there.

-My favorite shop, Harputs.
